Synectics shares jump 14% as annual earnings seen at top of range

6th Oct 2026 14:51

(Alliance News) - Synectics PLC shares jumped on Tuesday after it said it expects annual results to be in line with current market forecasts.

Shares in the Sheffield, England-based provider of advanced security and surveillance systems were up 14% to 197.05 on Tuesday afternoon in London.

Syntetics said it expected revenue in line with market consensus and adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation at the top of the guided range of GBP3.7 million to GBP4.1 million. Adjusted Ebitda was GBP7.9 million in 2025.

Syntetics said this reflected stronger margins and a good performance across the group's diversified businesses.

In August, the company warned it expected weaker yearly performance and said its energy business remained affected by uncertainty over the timing and sequencing of projects, amid the conflict in the Middle East.

On Tuesday, the company said it had a "significant pipeline" of opportunities in the energy market, which are expected to extend into financial 2027. The group noted encouraging signs of progression in the sector.

Syntetics also said the upgraded guidance reflected early benefits from implementing its new strategy, which involves "simplifying product deployment, strengthening partner strategic account management, and improving processes and commercial discipline across the business."

The company said it is confident in its opportunities as it enters financial 2027.

Chief Executive Officer Amanda Larnder said: "We enter 2027 with a significant Energy pipeline alongside growing opportunities across the wider critical security markets we serve. Our focus is on converting those opportunities, increasing the pace of execution and continuing to build a larger, more scalable business, with the benefits of the changes we are making increasingly reflected in our financial performance."
