LONDON (Alliance News) - SVM UK Emerging Fund PLC said Monday it outperformed its benchmark the IA UK All Companies Sector Average Index, as well as the FTSE All-Share Index, in the half year to end-September.
For the half year, the fund reported a total return on net asset value of 6.0%, outperforming a negative total return of 5% from both the IA UK All Companies Sector and FTSE All-Share Indices.
SVM highlighted positive contributions from Supergroup PLC, Ted Baker PLC and Hutchison China MediaTech Ltd.
The fund said its portfolio was boosted by improved consumer confidence in the UK, bolstered by UK real wage growth.
During the half year, SVM made new investments in Kainos Group PLC and Fevertree Drinks PLC, as well as Palace Capital PLC.
Shares in SVM were up 1.3% at 67.88 pence Monday.
