LONDON (Alliance News) - St Modwen Properties PLC said Monday that it has appointed Danuta Gray as chair designate and non-executive director, with effect from October 1.
Gray is expected to become permanent chair at the FTSE 250-listed housebuilder's next annual general meeting scheduled on March 29, 2019. She will replace Bill Shannon, who held the post since 2011.
Gray is currently a non-executive director at Direct Line Insurance Group PLC and banking firm Aldermore Group PLC and her most recent executive role was as chief executive officer at telecommunications firm Telefonica O2 in Ireland from 2001 to 2010.
"Recruiting such a high calibre individual as our next chairman is a clear reflection of the quality and direction of our business. Danuta brings significant Board and leadership experience and we are delighted to welcome her to the board. I am confident that St Modwen will benefit greatly from her broad knowledge and experience in the ongoing development and delivery of our strategy," said Chief Executive Mark Allan.
Shares in St Modwen Properties were up 0.5% at 392.21 pence each on Monday morning.
