Smiths Group Affirms Expectations As Weak Pound Boosts Revenue

15th Nov 2016 07:31

LONDON (Alliance News) - Diversified engineer Smiths Group PLC on Tuesday said trading remains in line with its expectations so far in its financial year.

The FTSE 100 group, which has oil services, medical devices and detection systems units, said revenue was down 3.0% in the first quarter to the end of October on a constant currency basis.

However, the weak pound bolstered reported revenue, which rose 16%, it said.

Expectations for the full year remain unchanged, Smiths said.
