3rd Jan 2023 10:36

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Hochschild Mining PLC, up 4.8% at 73.59 pence, 12-month range 50.4p-151p. The Americas-focused silver and gold miner rises as the price of gold increases sharply. Gold was quoted at USD1,839.13 an ounce on Tuesday morning, up from USD1,818.60 at the London equities close on Friday.

----------

Nanoco Group PLC, up 5.5% at 45.77p, 12-month range 16.05p-60.49p. Shares in the Manchester-based quantum dots manufacturer rise ahead of the commencement of its patent infringement lawsuit with Samsung Electronics Co. The trial in the Eastern District of Texas will begin on Friday. Nanoco claims Samsung infringed on its unique synthesis and resin capabilities for quantum dots. Quantum dot technology is used on Samsung quantum light-emitting diode televisions.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Hollywood Bowl Group PLC, down 2.4% at 243p, 12-month range 161.4p-294.5p. Shares in the bowling chain operator fall as fresh rail strikes begin in the UK, with footfall and travel likely to be severely depressed. There are two 48-hour strikes set for this week by members of the Rail, Maritime & Transport union, and a drivers strike on Thursday by the Aslef union. Fellow bowling operator Ten Entertainment Group PLC also loses 1.6%.
