SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Fundsmith Emerging up on liquidation plan

14th Sep 2022 11:06

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Wednesday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Fundsmith Emerging Equities Trust PLC, up 10% at 1,341.60 pence, 12-month range 1,045p-1,475p. Intends to put forward proposals for voluntary liquidation following notification from investment manager Fundsmith that it intends to give notice under investment manager agreement. Cash proceeds from realisation of portfolio to be returned to shareholders. Plans to get approval from shareholders for voluntary liquidation, but says it has sought views of largest investors and believes proposals are in best interests of shareholder base as a whole.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

East Imperial PLC, down 18% at 2.90p, 12-month range 2p-20.5p. Reports operating loss of GBP1.5 million for first half of 2022, widened from GBP437,000 a year before. Says this represents "commitment to the investment in the business and the growth opportunities in global markets." "We can't ignore the fact that consumers more broadly are feeling the squeeze, but our focus on luxury means that we are benefitting from the continuing shift towards premiumisation across the beverage industry," says Chief Executive Anthony Burt.

----------

Trustpilot Group PLC, down 7.9% at 65.95p, 12-month range 51.85p-425.2p. Pulls back after Tuesday's 15% rally. On Tuesday, the online review platform said its interim pretax loss narrowed to USD9.2 million from USD17.3 million.
