(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Thursday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

MJ Gleeson PLC, up 2.9% at 854.40 pence, 12-month range 512.00p-900.00p. The housebuilder rises in a positive read-across from mid-cap peer Crest Nicholson. Crest Nicholson posts revenue growth of 35% to GBP324.5 million in the six months to April 30, from GBP240.0 million a year earlier. It swings to a pretax profit of GBP36.3 million from a GBP51.2 million loss. Shares are 3.4% higher.

Wincanton PLC, up 2.9% at 854.40 pence, 12-month range 512.00p-900.00p. Ikea hands the Wiltshire-based logistics firm a contract extension to operate the flat-pack furniture specialist's customer distribution centres in Medway in Kent and Harlow in Essex, for five and two years respectively.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

Lookers PLC, down 2.0% at 67.90p, 12-month range 18.04p-73.37p. The car dealership operator's stock falls after a strong run in recent days amid a more promising outlook for the automotive sector. The stock rose 6.0% between Friday and Wednesday and is now up 3.7% since the end of last week.
