SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: James Fisher sinks after profit warning

25th Oct 2021 11:07

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Monday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Lamprell PLC, up 2.3% at 36.80 pence, 12-month range 26.50p-88.46p. The Sharjah, United Arab Emirates-based engineer says its oil & gas business unit has been awarded a major rig conversion contract from Bermuda-based oil & gas firm BW Energy Ltd. Lamprell says this medium-sized project will start immediately and is scheduled for completion in 2022. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

----------

Tullow Oil PLC, up 1.1% at 49.36, 12-month range 17.65p-66.22p. The oil and gas company appoints former MTN Group Chief Executive Officer Phuthuma Nhleko as chair-designate. Nhleko will take over from Dorothy Thompson by the year end.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

James Fisher & Sons PLC, down 32% at 530.00p, 12-month range 521.00p-1,323.42p. Shares in the marine services provider fall to 12-month low after profit warning. Says further delayed projects, an increase in bad debt risk and a poor performance in September for James Fisher's Tankships division have hurt its prospects. It now anticipates underlying operating profit for the full year to be in the range of GBP27 million to GBP32 million. It posted underlying operating profit of GBP40.5 million in 2020. In addition, Investec downgrades the stock to Hold from Buy.
