SKIL Ports & Logistics On Track With India Port Despite Monsoon Delay

28th Jul 2016 08:41

LONDON (Alliance News) - SKIL Ports & Logistics Ltd on Thursday said ground work is continuing on schedule for its port and logistics facility in Navi Munbai, India, despite work having slowed as a result of the monsoon.

SKIL, a holding company which develops, owns and operates port and logistics facilities, said piling has continued at the site and, as of Thursday, 68 piles have been driven for the construction of the jetty.

Meanwhile ground improvement work continues, though work has slowed due to the monsoon in India, SKIL said.

The company said it continues to work towards achieving its goal of having the facility in India part operational by the end of 2016, and said only when it is fully operational will it consider the merits of incorporating a ship repair facility.

SKIL noted that discussions with the lead contractor are continuing with regards to the optimum fit out for the final configuration of the facility and said it was also looking into a number of scenarios to secure any additional funding requirements such optimal fit out may require.

Shares in SKIL were down 2.4% at 30.00 pence on Thursday morning.
