(Alliance News) - Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund Ltd on Thursday reported lower asset valuations in September.
The Guernsey, Channel Islands-domiciled infrastructure debt fund, which is run by Sequoia Investment Management Co Ltd, reported a net asset value of 90.43 pence per share as of September 30. This was down 7.9% from 91.50p as of August 31.
Sequoia Economic shares were down 1.8% at 82.60p on Thursday in London.
SEQI said asset valuations declined by 1.64p per share, net of foreign exchange movements, although this was partially offset by 0.57p per share in interest income, net of expenses.
The asset valuation decline included a 0.95p decrease due to adjustments to Active Care Group.
SEQI's current exposure to ACG comprises 6.3% of NAV, and the firm's exit strategy from the complex care provider continues. It noted that ACG has a disposal programme in progress, with proceeds earmarked to reduce debt and fund growth investment in the Active Neuro division. SEQI intends to fully exit ACG once the disposals are complete and Active Neuro has scaled up, it said.
The company said its invested portfolio consisted of 49 private debt investments and two infrastructure bonds, across 8 sectors and 25 sub-sectors, at the end of the month.
New investment activity during the month included the extension of a USD60 million senior secured loan for Project Cloud, which financed the purchase of six operating power generation assets; a EUR4.4 million drawdown by Portuguese High-Speed Rail, to which SEQI's commitment totals EUR24.0 million; and a senior loan facility drawing of approximately GBP5.2 million by ACG Bidco Ltd.
SEQI itself has drawn GBP87.9 million under its GBP250 million revolving credit facility as of September 30, with cash holdings of GBP41.2 million.
