Seplat restarts production after replacing inlet gas exchange module

2nd Dec 2025 11:22

(Alliance News) - Seplat Energy PLC on Tuesday said it has restarted production in line with expectations after replacing the new inlet gas exchanger module on the East Area project platform, located in OML 67.

The Nigeria-focused energy supplier said the IGE module plays an "integral" part in the natural gas liquid extraction process and was the main capital project on its offshore operations in 2025.

Seplat noted the project was completed on budget with no incidents.

Since restarting the East Area project complex, the company said the facility has been performing in line with expectations.

In late November, gross natural gas liquid sales volumes at the East Area project more than doubled to approximately 6,850 barrels of oil per day, up from 3,360 barrels of oil per day recorded in the nine months to September 30.

Seplat said it anticipates that volumes will improve to approximately 11,000 barrels of oil per day, as the facility reaches target efficiency levels.

Chief Executive Roger Brown said: "We are pleased to have completed the first major capital project on our offshore operations on budget. Replacement of the IGE unit on our EAP platform builds on the success of our idle well recovery program as part of near-term production growth catalysts on the offshore assets that we acquired in December 2024."

Shares in Seplat rose 1.6% to 251.00 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
