(Alliance News) - Seeing Machines Ltd on Monday launched its physical AI platform, which it said will give robots greater contextual awareness to interact safely and intuitively with people.
Shares in Seeing Machines were up 5.1% at 4.88 pence on Monday in London.
The Canberra, Australia-based computer vision company said the platform applies its Human-Centred AI design philosophy to robotics and industrial automation.
The platform creates a dynamic three-dimensional perception map of people, objects and their surroundings, allowing robots to understand spatial relationships, interpret human behaviour, anticipate risks and make decisions in real time, Seeing Machines said.
The company said the technology differs from conventional AI systems focused on recognising individual objects or performing predefined tasks by interpreting people, objects and their surroundings as a unified scene.
Seeing Machines said the platform could be used across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, aged care, warehousing, mining and industrial automation, where robots are increasingly expected to work alongside people.
Chief Executive Officer Paul McGlone said: "For more than two decades, we've been teaching machines to understand people."
He added: "With the launch of our physical AI platform we are extending that capability into robotics, enabling machines to interact with people safely, naturally and intuitively."
