Relx backs annual outlook as revenue grows 7% amid AI demand

22nd Oct 2026 09:26

(Alliance News) - Relx PLC on Thursday reported revenue growth in the first nine months of 2026, supported by demand for AI-enabled analytics and decision tools and reaffirmed its full-year outlook.

The London-based information and analytics provider said underlying revenue grew 7% in the nine months to September 30, driven by a continued shift towards higher-growth analytics and decision tools.

Its Legal division led growth, with underlying revenue up 10%, supported by demand for AI-enabled legal research and analytics products and strong new sales.

The Risk division recorded underlying revenue growth of 8%, driven by financial crime compliance, fraud prevention and insurance analytics solutions.

Scientific, Technical & Medical revenue increased 6% on an underlying basis, supported by new product launches and adoption of AI-enabled tools, including its recently launched LeapSpace research platform.

Meanwhile, Exhibitions revenue grew 4%, with performance dragged by disruption in the Middle East caused by the US-Iran war.

Relx said it expects another year of strong underlying revenue and adjusted operating profit growth, alongside strong growth in adjusted earnings per share at constant currencies.

Across its Risk, Scientific, Technical & Medical and Legal divisions, the company expects underlying adjusted operating profit growth to exceed underlying revenue growth.

Separately, Relx announced a new GBP125 million share buyback programme running from Thursday until December 2, following the completion of a previous GBP125 million programme on Wednesday.

Both form part of the GBP2.25 billion in share repurchases during all of 2026.

Shares in Relx were down 0.4% to 2,961.00 pence in London on Thursday morning.
