(Alliance News) - Prudential PLC on Wednesday announced it will sell up to 2% of its subsidiary's stake in the Indian asset manager ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Ltd.
Prudential, a London-based life and health insurer and asset manager focused on Asia, said its subsidiary Prudential Corporation Holdings Ltd intends to begin tomorrow an open market sale process of 2% of its stake in ICICI Prudential Asset Management.
The sale, said Prudential, is aimed at meeting India's requirement of a 15% minimum public float stake within five years of a company's initial public offering. ICICI Prudential Asset Management was listed on the National Stock Exchange of India and the Bombay Stock Exchange on December 19, 2025.
After the sale, Prudential Corporation Holdings will retain a 32.6% stake in ICICI Prudential Asset Management, as well as unchanged governance rights.
Prudential was down 0.3% at 1,031.50 pence in London around noon.
