(Alliance News) - Cinema operator Vue Entertainment International Ltd is considering an initial public offering in London, four years after a GBP1 billion debt restructuring amid the trauma of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.
Vue Founder & Chief Executive Tim Richards said an exit for investors could take the form of a stock market listing or a private sale, the newspaper said.
However, the company's backers, asset manager Barings LLC and hedge fund Farallon Capital Management LLC, both US-based, favour an IPO at a value of up to GBP1.5 billion, the FT said, citing "two people familiar with the matter".
A decision could be made within the weeks, with the IPO process starting before the end of the year for a listing in 2027, according to the FT.
