(Alliance News) - Goodwin Racing Ltd, known for its betting brand BetGoodwin, is considering an initial public offering on London's AIM market, Sky News reported Wednesday.
The Uckfield, East Sussex-based gambling operator has started to consider a listing despite its industry rivals heeding warnings over potential tax rises in the UK government budget, due next week Wednesday.
Earlier in October, Sky had reported that the Betting & Gaming Council asked UK Chancellor John Healey to delay a planned tax hike on the industry.
Sky on Wednesday said that Julian Head, BetGoodwin's chief executive, and his son Ben, the firm's chief operating officer, have been working with investment bankers on a London IPO that could value the company at around GBP80 million.
Further, Allenby Capital reportedly has been enlisted to work on the potential IPO.
