Petards Wins UK Government Deal Worth Over GBP4.5 Million

2nd Jul 2014 06:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Security and surveillance systems maker Petards Group PLC Wednesday said it has won a deal worth over GBP4.5 million from the UK Ministry of Defence to upgrade countermeasures equipment fitted to some Royal Air Force aircraft.

In a statement, Petards said its Petards Joyce-Loebl unit will replace obsolete components within the ALE-47 Threat Adaptive Countermeasure Dispensing System Programmers fitted to the RAF's C-130 J transport aircraft, Merlin Mk.3, Chinook Mk.2, 2A, 3, and 6 and Puma helicopters.

It said the project will start immediately and is expected to contribute to revenue in the current and the two subsequent financial years, with the largest proportion falling within 2015. It expects to complete the project by the end of the first quarter of 2016.

The deal comes just a week after Petards won a deal worth over GBP1.5 million with Siemens AG to supply the German company with products for the trains it builds.
