LONDON (Alliance News) - Petards Group PLC Tuesday said it has won a contract worth more than GBP1.5 million to fit its eyeTrain on-board digital CCTV systems to Siemens AG's new Desiro City Electrical Multiple Unit trains.
In a statement, the security and surveillance systems company said engineering work will start immediately and the first equipment deliveries are expected to be made in the latter part of 2015. It expects to deliver the majority of the equipment in 2016, and to complete the project in 2017.
The deal comes after Petards last year entered into a framework agreement under which the company has the opportunity to supply Siemens' world-wide rail vehicle business with its train related products and services.
The equipment to be supplied will provide the trains with driver-only operation capability as well as providing CCTV coverage of the internal saloon areas, Petards said.
