Optima Health wins first NHS contract for digital referral tool

11th Feb 2025 11:52

(Alliance News) - Optima Health PLC on Tuesday said it has won its first licence contract with the UK National Health Service for its digital assessment routing tool.

The Sheffield, England-based occupational health software provider said the contract with Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will not be material to overall revenue and profits, but aligns with its growth strategy.

DART has been commissioned to support the stratification of care for musculoskeletal conditions following a four-month quality improvement study.

The company said the success of the study has created "significant interest" from other NHS musculoskeletal services, creating a new sales pipeline for Optima Health.

DART is a digital first point of contact for patients self-referring into a musculoskeletal pathway, as an alternative to clinical triage.

Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Thomas said: "We are excited to announce this first licence today for Optima's proprietary tool, DART... Following the successful four-month quality improvement study, we have received significant interest from other NHS trusts and breaking into this new market, as planned, will provide a healthy new sales pipeline for Optima Health."

Shares in Optima Health were up 0.6% at 172.00 pence in London late on Tuesday morning.
