(Alliance News) - Pharmaceutical company Nuformix PLC on Monday said it and partner Ebers Tech Inc have filed the first patent in relation to cannabinoid cocrystals.
The patented cannabinoid forms have immediate applications in both pharmaceutical and consumer products worldwide, Nurformix said, adding it will generate further milestone payments, plus royalties of 20% pursuant to the agreement with Ebers, a Canadian cannabinoid development company.
Nuformix in April signed a cannabinoid therapeutics agreement worth up to GBP51 million with Ebers. Under the agreement, Ebers gained exclusive access to Nuformix's existing cannabinoid IP and technology platforms to enable the development of differentiated cannabinoid products.
Shares in Nuformix were down 1.8% at 7.81 pence each on Monday morning.
