(Alliance News) - Paper and plastic packaging company Mondi PLC on Tuesday said it has appointed the current chair of Equiniti Group PLC as its own chair.
Philip Yea will join the board as a non-executive director in April before becoming chair at the conclusion of its May 7 annual general meeting. He was chief executive of 3i Group PLC from 2004 to 2009 and held various non-executive roles, including as chair of Greene King PLC and bwin.party digital entertainment PLC.
Yea currently chairs share registration and financial services provider Equiniti and at Mondi will succeed David Williams, whose retirement was announced back in March 2019.
Shares in Mondi were up 4.3% at ZAR262.02 in Johannesburg on Tuesday and up 0.4% at 1,282.50 pence in London. Equiniti was down 3.7% in London at 159.80p.
