Monadelphous to construct Car Dumper 6 at Port Hedland for BHP

(Alliance News) - Monadelphous Group Ltd on Wednesday said it has been awarded a construction contract by BHP Group Ltd to build a new car dumper.

Monadelphous is a Perth, Australia-based company providing multidisciplinary construction, maintenance and industrial services.

The contract with Melbourne-based diversified miner BHP is valued at around AUD200 million, or approximately USD141.0 million.

It relates to the Port Debottlenecking Project 2 located at BHP's Nelson Point port facility in Port Hedland, Western Australia.

Monadelphous will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of all structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation activities linked with the construction of the new Car Dumper 6 and its associated materials handling facility.

Work will start immediately with completion expected in 2028.

Monadelphous shares closed 1.5% higher at AUD29.98 each in Sydney on Tuesday, while BHP shares closed up 4.2% at 3,225.00 pence each in London that same day.
