(Alliance News) - MJ Gleeson PLC on Tuesday reaffirmed its annual outlook, crediting continued strong demand for its homes despite a slight year-on-year drop in house sales.
The Sheffield-based housebuilder said it expects results for the year to June 30 to be in line with market expectations.
The Gleeson Homes division completed the sale of 932 homes during the first half, 2.0% lower than the year before but 15% more than the pre-Covid 2019 period.
"Demand for our low-cost homes remains strong. Our customers continue to find the cost of owning a Gleeson home significantly lower than the cost of renting," the company stated.
Gleeson reconfirmed its target of delivering 2,000 homes in the year to June 2022. Gleeson Homes opened eight new build sites during the first half and anticipates opening a total of 25 sites during the full year.
MJ Gleeson will publish its interim results on February 10.
Shares were down 1.2% at 790.51 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
