LONDON (Alliance News) - MJ Gleeson PLC on Monday said its first half results will be significantly ahead of the comparative year-earlier period due to strong demand for low-cost homes.
The housebuilder also said that results for the financial year ending June 30 will be at least in line with expectations.
"We continue to see strong demand for our low-cost homes, supporting both increased build activity on existing sites and the opening of new sites across our target geographic area. Our target market remains strong and our customers have maintained their confidence. We do not see any signs of customer caution," the company said.
Gleeson Homes sold 691 units during the first half to December-end, up 17% on the previous year's interim total of 593 unit completions. The company's land division sold three sites, the same number as the previous first half-year.
MJ Gleeson is scheduled to report its half year results on February 14. Shares in the company were trading 3.0% higher at 678.00 pence each on Monday morning.
