Messaging International Loss Narrows As Revenue Stabilises

8th Sep 2015 09:49

LONDON (Alliance News) - Messaging International PLC said Tuesday it narrowed its loss in the first half of 2015 despite revenue declining as it continues to transition its business away from its text-to-landline legacy operations and towards its business mobile messaging services.

The messaging services company said its pretax loss for the six months to the end of June was GBP85,502, narrowed from a GBP186,664 loss made a year earlier. Revenue was down to GBP1.7 million from GBP1.9 million, but the group said its revenue from its legacy text-to-landline business has now stabilised at a lower level.

The company has been focusing on developing its business mobile messaging platform and is currently running a number of pilot trials. It signed a partnership deal in June with an unnamed North American mobile carrier and expects revenue to flow from this deal from 2016.

Shares in Messaging International were untraded on Tuesday morning, having last traded at 0.5 pence.
