Magnum Ice Cream backs outlook on back of "outstanding" Ben & Jerry's

30th Jul 2026 11:25

(Alliance News) - Magnum Ice Cream Co NV on Thursday reported organic sales growth in the first half of 2026, supported by an "outstanding" second quarter for its Ben & Jerry's brand.

The Amsterdam-based ice cream maker, spun out of Unilever PLC, said pretax profit fell 14% to EUR502 million in the six months that ended June 30 from EUR586 million a year prior.

Revenue increased 4.2% to EUR4.69 billion from EUR4.50 billion, with 4.7% organic growth balanced between volume gains of 2.5% and price rises 2.2%. Basic earnings per share were EUR0.56 with no comparative available, the company's spin out from Unilever having been completed this past December.

Organic sales growth in the second quarter alone was 4.9%, which was slower than 7.0% a year before.

"Each of our four leading brands – Magnum, Ben & Jerry's, Cornetto, and the Heartbrand – grew," Chief Executive Peter ter Kulve said.

"Ben & Jerry's grew mid-single-digit and had an outstanding second quarter with 9.2% growth. Yasso, our high-protein, low-calorie offering, continued to grow double-digit after its successful expansion from sticks to pints," he added.

The CEO said the "key" summer selling season got off to a strong start, growing and gaining share in all regions, including the US, its biggest market.

"Looking ahead, while we're clear-eyed on the wider external challenges, we are committed to our strategy, confident in our ability to execute, and reaffirm our full-year outlook," the CEO said.

For the full-year, the company expects organic sales growth to be between 3% to 5% and eyes an adjusted Ebitda margin improvement of 40 to 60 basis points, on a comparable basis with 2025.

Shares in Magnum Ice Cream were 0.2% lower at 1,379.50 pence each in London on Thursday.
