Land Securities confirms start date for new finance director Simms

12th Mar 2021 08:36

(Alliance News) - Land Securities Group PLC on Friday announced Vanessa Simms will join as chief financial officer designate from May 4 and will take on the role full-time from June 1.

The FTSE 100-listed London-based commercial property developer said back in September that current CFO Martin Greenslade will step down from May 31 after 16 years in the post. He will work with Simms until June 30 to provide "a full and effective" transition.

Simms is currently CFO at residential landlord Grainger PLC, and has previously held senior positions at student accommodation provider Unite Group PLC and warehouse investor SEGRO PLC.

Last month, Grainger said it had hired Robert Hudson as the replacement for Simms, poaching him from St Modwen Properties PLC, a fellow FTSE 250 constituent. St Modwen said it has started the search for a successor.

"I am delighted that Vanessa is to join LandSec as our next CFO, building on the strong foundations established by Martin. She brings a valuable combination of expertise and experience, and I have been particularly impressed by the role she has played in helping to deliver strategic change and business transformation at Grainger in recent years," said LandSec Chief Executive Mark Allan back in October, when it was first announced that Simms would take over the role.

Shares in Land Securities were down 0.3% at 677.90 pence in London on Friday.
