16th Mar 2018 11:33

LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed home improvement products supplier Kingfisher PLC said Friday that it has appointed Jeff Carr as non-executive director, effective from June 1.

Carr will be replacing Andrew Bonfield, who will be stepping down on June 12.

Carr is currently chief financial officer of food retailer Ahold Delhaize N.V, a role he has held since 2016, and was a key figure in the merger between Ahold and Delhaize, as he was chief financial officer at Ahold for five years since 2011.

Kingfisher has also appointed Claudia Arney as non-executive director with effect from November 1. Arney, who served as managing director of digital division at media company EMAP from 2008 to 2010, currently serves as non-executive director of Halfords Group PLC and Derwent London PLC

"I am delighted to welcome Jeff and Claudia to the Kingfisher board. Their skills and experience will provide valuable insight to the board's deliberations, and we look forward to working with them both." I would also like to thank Andrew Bonfield for his outstanding contribution to the company over the past 8 years, and his excellent chairmanship of the Audit Committee. The board and I wish him well for the future," said Chairman Andy Cosslett.

Shares in Kingfisher were down 1.3 at 345.60 pence on Friday.
