Keystone Law stock rises on half-year earnings and dividend growth

14th Sep 2026 15:06

(Alliance News) - Keystone Law Group PLC on Monday declared a special dividend alongside "excellent" half-year results, and said it expects to beat revenue and profit expectations for the current financial year.

In response, Keystone shares were up 7.3% at 661.00 pence on Monday afternoon in London.

The London-based law firm reported adjusted pretax profit of GBP9.6 million for the six months ended July 31, up 31% from GBP7.3 million the year before. Statutory pretax profit increased 33% to GBP9.2 million from GBP6.9 million.

Revenue increased 23% on-year to GBP66.3 million from GBP54.2 million, and revenue per principal rose 15% to GBP133,800 from GBP116,800 due to "strong demand across the business, with activity in corporate and corporate restructuring over-indexing".

Keystone declared an interim dividend of 9.6p per share, up from 7.5p the year before, as well as a 15p per share special dividend.

"I am extremely pleased with Keystone's performance in the period," Chief Executive Officer James Knight. "Strong demand across the business, continued recruitment of high-calibre lawyers and disciplined investment in our platform have delivered excellent financial performance and further strengthened our market-leading position.

"We continue to invest in our technology, brand and community, including the rollout of further market-leading AI tools, to ensure our lawyers have the infrastructure and support they need to grow and sustain successful practices.

"With a strong first half and an encouraging start to H2, we remain confident in Keystone's ability to deliver sustainable long-term growth."

Keystone said it expects revenue for the year ending January 31 to be "comfortably ahead" of current market expectations, and for profits to be "materially ahead".

It cited market consensus of GBP123 million in revenue, GBP13.8 million in adjusted profit before interest and tax, and GBP15.8 million in adjusted pretax profit. The adjusted figures add back amortisation in the prior period and share-based payments for all periods.

For the previous financial year, Keystone reported adjusted pretax profit of GBP15.3 million, revenue of GBP115.2 million, and adjusted profit before interest and tax of GBP12.9 million.
