(Alliance News) - Kelso Group Holdings PLC on Monday reported a new significant holding in Filtronic PLC.
The investor in London-listed companies said it has acquired 500,000 Filtronic shares at an average price of 185 pence each between December and February. As a result of Filtronic's rising market value, Kelso's holding in the company now represents around 10% of gross investments.
Filtronic manufactures components and subsystems for the telecommunications, aerospace and defence sectors. Its shares were up 0.5% at 297.55p on Monday morning in London, for a market capitalisation of GBP655.4 million, with the stock having more than tripled over the past year.
Kelso shares fell 3.7% to 3.0 pence on Monday morning in London, for a market capitalisation of GBP13.4 million.
The company estimated its investment in Filtronic had generated an unrealised gain of 60%. Kelso also noted Filtronic's contract wins with the likes of Airbus SE, Leonardo Spa, QinetiQ PLC and "strategic partnership" and SpaceX, signed in 2024.

As of Friday, Kelso estimated that NCC Group PLC made up 18% of its investment portfolio, while Saga PLC comprised 16%, CVS Group PLC 15%, TheWorks.co.uk PLC 13%, Selkirk Group Plc 10%, THG PLC 10% and Angling Direct PLC 7%.
