JPJ Group Appoints Former News Corp Executive Vanneck-Smith To Board

22nd Aug 2019 16:06

(Alliance News) - Online bingo firm JPJ Group PLC said on Thursday that it has appointed Katie Vanneck-Smith as a non-executive director, with effect from October 1.

Vanneck-Smith spent 20 years in various senior roles at News Corp, JPJ said and she was formerly the commercial chief of Dow Jones & Co.

She co-found Tortoise Media Ltd, a slow-news start up, in January.

JPJ Executive Chair Neil Goulden said: "It is brilliant to have someone with Vanneck-Smith's extensive experience agree to join the board. We are looking forward to drawing on her valuable knowledge of managing customer focused digital solutions. Her active involvement and management of a number of high-profile digital projects during her years at News Corp will be invaluable for the group."

Shares in JPJ were up 0.2% at 646.00 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
