(Alliance News) - Journeo PLC on Tuesday said it has won a GBP1.4 million contract with Stoke-on-Trent City Council for the supply and support of real-time passenger information technology.
The Leicestershire-based transport system services provider said the contract was part of the council's GBP10 million Bus Service Improvement Plan, funded by the UK Department for Transport.
Jounreo will extend the digital access available for departure information across Stoke-on-Trent's transport network, and install its double-sided Thin Film Transistor displays to "key transport corridors" in the region.
The TFT displays will include discreet CCTV to improve safety for lone passengers and those travelling at night.
Chief Executive Officer Russ Singleton said: "We are delighted to continue our relationship with Stoke City Council. Not only will residents and visitors to key transport corridors benefit from the enhanced experience of safe public transport coupled with real time departure information, our innovative solutions are helping our customers better understand where to target future investment to get the most value."
Shares in Journeo were up 1.5% at 305.48 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
