(Alliance News) - Journeo PLC on Wednesday said it has won two contracts for real time information systems with Nottingham City Council.
Shares in the Leicestershire, England-based transport system services provider were up 11% to 122.00 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
Journeo said that the first contract, valued at GBP1.4 million, is for the upgrade of 1,600 existing LED outdoor displays using a 4G intelligent gateway, the 'Journeo Edge'.
The upgrades will join over 1,000 displays previously supplied by the company throughout Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Derby City Council, and Derbyshire County Council, it said.
The second contract is valued at GBP300,000. It is for Nottingham City Council to use Journeo's messaging software tool to integrate travel disruption information with scheduled and real time departure data for over 10,000 bus stops. The service will use data feeds to distribute information to transport users via displays, mobile apps, and online sources already used by the authority to provide information.
Journeo expects that around GBP500,000 of the total value of these contracts will be delivered within this financial year.
Chief Executive Russ Singleton said: "We are delighted to be working with these councils to upgrade and connect their legacy LED display systems to our powerful content management software platform."
"Additionally, the new messaging tool has the potential to revolutionise transport disruption messaging, disseminating the latest updates for any bus stop to any authorised endpoint," Singleton added.
