LONDON (Alliance News) - Johnson Matthey PLC on Tuesday said its has appointed former Meggitt PLC chief financial officer Doug Webb as a non-executive director.
The chemicals company said Webb will join the board on September 2 and will become audit committee chair in July 2020.
Prior to his role at Meggitt, Webb was also CFO at London Stock Exchange Group PLC and QinetiQ Group PLC. At present, Webb is a non-executive director at SEGRO PLC and BMT Group Ltd.
Separately, the appointment of Alan Ferguson, a Johnson Matthey non-executive and current audit chair, has been extended to July 2020 from January 2020. He will have served on the board for nine years in January 2020. Following a review, Johnson Matthey has found that Ferguson "remains independent".
In addition, John O'Higgins - non-executive at Johnson Matthey since November 2017 - will be made senior independent director at the end of Johnson Matthey's 2020 annual general meeting.
Shares in Johnson Matthey were up 1.5% at 3,174.77 pence on Tuesday morning.
