Ireland quarterly economic growth upwardly revised - CSO

(Alliance News) - Ireland's economy fared better than first expected in the second quarter of the year, data from the Central Statistics Office showed Friday.

The CSO said gross domestic product fell 0.4% on-year in the second quarter of 2026, upwardly revised from an initially reported 1.6% decline. The Irish economy had slumped 13% on-year in the first three months of 2026.

On-quarter, GDP jumped 10% in the second quarter, markedly above the preliminary reading which showed a 3.9%. GDP had slid 7.8% in the first quarter.
