(Alliance News) - Irish inflation eased slightly in July, according to a flash estimate from the Central Statistics Office on Thursday.
The harmonised index of consumer prices rose 3.1% in the 12 months to July, slowing from 3.2% in June. Prices were unchanged on a monthly basis.
Energy prices fell 1.7% in July but remained 6.5% higher than a year earlier, while food prices rose 0.3% on the month and 0.8% annually.
Excluding energy and unprocessed food, inflation was estimated at 2.9% year-on-year.
Services prices increased 0.8% in July and 3.7% from a year before, while non-energy industrial goods prices fell 0.9% on the month but rose 2.0% annually.
The final July figures will be published on August 13.
