Invinity Energy makes European debut with VS3 battery-system sale

12th Oct 2022 10:50

(Alliance News) - Invinity Energy Systems PLC on Wednesday entered the European market following the sale of one of its battery systems to Equans Belux, a Belgian multi-technical installations and maintenance services provider.

The London-based utility-grade energy storage manufacturer said that four 0.8 megawatt-hour Invinity VS3 batteries will be integrated with solar photovoltaic technology to allow Equans to support its customers in unlocking low-carbon energy on-demand.

The sale represents Invinity's debut on the European market, and follows news last week on Friday of the sale of a 1.3 megawatt-hour battery system to Kinetic Solutions LLC. Kinetic is an energy solutions provider, specialising in renewable microgrid infrastructure for sites across the US.

Equans was recently acquired by diversified services group Bouygues.

Chief Commercial Officer Matt Harper said: "Equans and Bouygues are global leaders in providing the technical services that help commercial and industrial companies profitably navigate the low-carbon energy transition. We are excited at the opportunity to demonstrate how Invinity's durable, safe and economical energy storage solutions can help accelerate that transition across Equans' client portfolio."

The batteries will be assembled at Invinity's Bathgate facility, with delivery to Belgium expected in early 2023.

Invinity shares were trading 7.8% higher at 26.40 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
