Wizz Air Holdings PLC - Budapest-based budget airline - Wizz carries 8.4 million passengers in July, up 32% from 6.3 million a year before. Capacity is increased by slightly less, up 30% to 8.9 million seats from 6.8 million, so load factor improves to 93.7% from 92.8%. Wizz says it is seeing summer season acceleration, after 27% annual passenger growth in June. Over the 12 months to July, Wizz carries 76.0 million passengers, up 16% from 65.4 million a year before, though load factor slips to 90.8% from 91.1%. Wizz will open new bases in Madrid and Valencia in Spain, as well as a base in Prishtina, Kosova, all in November. Carbon emissions per passenger kilometre declined by 4.0% in July from a year before.
