IN BRIEF: St James's Place starts GBP128 million share buyback

St James's Place PLC - Cirencester, Gloucestershire-based wealth manager - Starts on Monday the share buyback programme announced with its annual results last week. The share buyback is worth up to GBP128.1 million. It will be run by Morgan Stanley & Co International PLC and completed by October 16. The repurchased shares will be cancelled. St James's Place on Wednesday last week said pretax profit rose 92% to GBP968.2 million in the first half of 2026 from GBP505.4 million a year before, as fee and commission income climbed 47% to GBP2.29 billion from GBP1.56 billion despite a slowdown in net inflows. The company held its cash interim dividend unchanged at 6.00 pence per share.

Current stock price: 1,088.50 pence, up 3.3% in London on Monday
