Scotgems PLC - invests in small-cap companies in emerging markets - Swings to pretax profit of GBP4.3 million in 2021 from a loss of GBP168,000 the previous year. Investment income more than doubles to GBP2.1 million from GBP872,000. Total income rises sharply to GBP5 million from GBP456,000. Return per share swings to 7.04 pence from a loss of 1.16p. During the year, the company's NAV increased by 8.2% to 92.90 pence from 85.86p, while the MSCI Emerging Markets Small Cap Index increased by 11%.
