North American Income Trust PLC - Chelmsford, England-based investor of mainly S&P500 equities - Says net asset value at July 31 fell 5.8% to 317.82 pence from 337.21 pence at January 31. NAV total return for the six-months to the end of July was negative 3.2%, underperforming the negative 1% Russell 1000 Value Index. Ups its interim dividend by 4.0% to 5.20p per share from 5.0p a year prior. Looking ahead, believes "a focus on quality and income generation is the best approach to navigate uncertain times and weather a potential recession."
