Hammerson PLC - London-based property development and investment company - Starts buying back up to 5.3 million own shares at 5 pence each. Says the sole purpose of the share repurchase programme is to meet obligations arising from employee share option plan. Says the buyback will commence on Tuesday and will end no later than June 30.
