IN BRIEF: Gemfields shares rise despite 50% drop in auction revenue

Gemfields Group Ltd - London-based miner and marketer of coloured gemstones - Total auction revenue is USD60 million for the first half of 2025, halved from USD121 million a year earlier. Says the construction of Montepuez Ruby Mining Ltda's second processing plant in Mozambique is nearing completion and remains materially on budget. First ruby production is expected next month. Anticipates full completion in September.

Gemfields says Zambian emerald mine Kagem Mining Ltd recommenced focused mining in May by reopening two production points in the Chama pit, with a further moderated expansion from this month, while continuing to process stockpiles through its upgraded wash plant.

Gemfields plans to release its interim financial results on September 26.
