IN BRIEF: BlackRock Greater Europe plans no semi-annual tender offer

21st Sep 2026 18:30

Blackrock Greater Europe Investment Trust PLC - investment trust focused on small, mid and large-cap European companies - Decides not to implement a semi-annual tender offer in November. Notes that shares traded at an average 6.72% discount to net asset value including income in the six months to August 31, wider than the 5.37% average discount for its peer group. The discount to cum-income NAV, diluted for treasury shares, stood at 7.63% at September 18. During the six-month period, the company bought back 2.6 million shares, 2.8% of its issued share capital.

"Given the company's current discount and that the buyback activity has minimised the company's discount volatility over the period, the board concluded that it is not in the interests of shareholders as a whole to implement a semi-annual tender...The board will continue to monitor the company's discount to NAV and will look to buy back shares and/or operate six monthly tender offers if it is deemed to be in the interests of shareholders as a whole," the company says.

Current share price: 588.01 pence, closed up 1.9% in London on Monday

12-month change: up 0.5%
