AstraZeneca PLC - Cambridge, England-based pharmaceutical maker - Says Enhertu, developed with Daiichi Sankyo Co Ltd, has been approved in the EU to treat adults with HER2-positive early breast cancer who have residual invasive disease following treatment before surgery. AstraZeneca says the European Commission approval follows results from the DESTINY-Breast05 phase III trial, presented in 2025, which showed Enhertu reduced the risk of invasive disease recurrence or death by 53% compared with T-DM1. Following approval, AstraZeneca will pay Daiichi Sankyo USD75 million as a milestone payment.
