IN BIREF: First Development starts Lander West gold soil sampling

6th Oct 2026 07:01

First Development Resources - Northern Territory-focused exploration company - Commences soil-sampling programme at Northern Territory, Australia. First Development says 620 Priority 1 field stations are planned across Red Handed, Red Hackle and part of Giles. Soil assays will be assessed with geology and geophysics, including gold and associated elements such as arsenic and antimony, to guide future exploration across targeted areas. The company also announces that eight reverse circulation drill holes totalling 1,593 metres have been completed, confirming gold mineralisation in bedrock at Red Handed. One hole, 26LWR08, intersected 7 metres at 0.40 grammes of gold per tonne from 50 metres downhole, including 2 metres at 0.98 grammes per tonne. Stage II preparations are progressing, with drilling to follow up the most prospective Stage I intersections along strike and down dip. The drilling programme is independent of the soil results and will be funded from existing cash resources.
