LONDON (Alliance News) - IGas Energy PLC Friday said it has won an appeal to construct an exploration well in Holt, near Wrexham, England.
Wrexham County Borough Council refused to grant planning permission for the company's proposed exploration well in March despite a recommendation to approve it from the council's own planning officer, said IGas in a statement.
The Planning Inspectorate of Wales overturned the decision on Wednesday, and approved the appeal, IGas said.
The planning permission that has now been granted is for a single coal-bed methane exploration well, where a sample of the coals will be taken for laboratory analysis of the gas content, it said.
IGas shares were up 0.4% to 77.34 pence per share at the open Friday.
