LONDON (Alliance News) - Highlands Natural Resources PLC on Thursday said it has filed permit requests for up to 104 wells on its West Denver shale project in Colorado.
Highlands wants to get the requests in before November 6.
On that date, there will be a vote in the State of Colorado on Proposition 112, which wants to extend the proximity limit wells can have in regard to occupied buildings and schools.
Highlands said similar votes have failed in the past, but it has been advised getting permits in before the vote would lower the risk posed by an approved vote.
The company also said talks with potential partners and on financing initiatives for West Denver are ongoing.
Shares were 2.3% lower on Thursday at a price of 14.90 pence each.
