Havelock Europa Appoints Former Non-Executive Godden As Chairman

20th Dec 2016 09:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - Interior fittings firm Havelock Europa PLC on Tuesday said it has re-appointed Ian Godden as a non-executive director and as chairman of the company.

Godden will take over from the current chairman, David MacLellan, who will retire at the company's general meeting next month.

As part of his appointment, Godden will purchase a GBP300,000 stake in Havelock through the subscription of 3 million shares at 10 pence each. On top of the 194,213 shares he already owns, this will take his total holding to 7.7% of the company's issued share capital.

Godden was previously chairman of software and consulting services firm KBC Advanced Technologies Ltd, which was listed in London before being taken over by Japanese electrical engineering company Yokogawa Electric Corp last April.

"I am delighted to announce that Ian has agreed to become the new chairman of Havelock and his commitment to invest in the company, at what is hoped will be a point of change for Havelock. Ian has a good understanding of Havelock's activities, having been a [non-executive] director of the company from 1995 to 2006, and a track record of helping businesses grow," MacLellan said in a statement.

Shares in Havelock were trading up 7.7% at 9.15 pence on Tuesday.
