(Alliance News) - GSK PLC on Tuesday notes that licensor Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group Co Ltd has announced positive results from a "pivotal" phase 3 study of risvutatug rezetecan, or Ris-Rez.
The London-based pharmaceutical company said the "pivotal" Artemis-011 trial was evaluating Ris-Rez in patients with osteosarcoma who had progressed or relapsed after receiving at least two prior lines of systemic therapy.
GSK said the study met its primary endpoint of progression-free survival, with Ris-Rez demonstrating statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in PFS compared with chemotherapy.
It said there were also consistent benefits across secondary endpoints, including overall survival, and that the safety profile was consistent with prior findings.
Hansoh will use the phase 3 trial's findings for regulatory submission in China.
GSK also noted that the Artemis-011 findings follow "recently reported pivotal data" from the Artemis-008 study, which met its primary endpoint of overall survival with Ris-Rez in advanced or relapsed small-cell lung cancer. This makes Ris-Rez the only B7-H3-targeted antibody drug conjugate to deliver positive phase 3 trial outcomes across multiple tumour types, the company said.
Furthermore, GSK noted that it is advancing the Embold Sarcoma-202 phase 1b/2 trial of Ris-Rez in previously treated unresectable advanced or metastatic sarcomas, including osteosarcoma.
GSK shares were 1.0% higher at 1,981.41 pence in London at around midday on Tuesday.
